China's National Mind Sports Games (全国智力运动会) is a multi-discipline competition where provinces field teams across Go, chess, bridge, xiangqi, and draughts. The Go events are fiercely contested because results directly influence provincial sports bureau funding — making this one of the few Go competitions with real institutional stakes beyond prize money.
