The Millennium Chunwon (밀레니엄 천원전, "Millennium Center Point") is a Korean invitational tournament named after the center point of the Go board — the 10-10 intersection known as tengen in Japanese or chunwon in Korean. Playing first on this point was once considered wildly unconventional, but it symbolizes bold, center-oriented strategy. The "Millennium" prefix evokes the timeless nature of the game.
