The Taiwan Mingren (Master/Meijin) is one of Taiwan's oldest and most prestigious Go titles, following the naming tradition shared across East Asia. The original series ran from 1974 to 2009 (36 editions, the last sixteen swept by Zhou Junxun) before lapsing; the Haifong Go Institute revived it in 2020 — renumbering from the 1st edition — and it has crowned a champion every year since, with Xu Haohong and Lai Junfu trading the title. The modern final is a best-of-seven. Along with the Taiwan Tianyuan, it forms the backbone of Taiwan's professional Go competition system.
