The world edition of the Sopalcosanol Best Player, run by the Korea Baduk Association and played in the years the domestic title is not. The first edition seeded nine players into a round robin in Seoul in March and June 2025 after Korean and Chinese preliminaries. Shin Jinseo and Tu Xiaoyu tied on six wins and two losses, and Shin took the best-of-three final 2-1 that September after losing the first game by half a point. The winner receives 200 million won.
