The name is a pun: 熬鹰 ("taming the eagle") on the host's own 战鹰 ("battle eagle"). Entrants are split by strength into novice, low-dan and high-dan brackets, and the finals share the room with a professional exhibition — a two-stone teaching game and a mixed-doubles best-of-three.
