KPI Cup

The KPI Cup was a Korean professional Go tournament sponsored by the Korea Press Institute (한국언론진흥재단). Media organizations have historically been among the most important sponsors of professional Go in East Asia, a tradition originating with Japanese newspaper companies that funded the game's major titles. The KPI Cup continued this tradition in the Korean context, connecting the press world with professional Baduk competition.
