Ch'oegowi

The Ch'oegowi (최고위전, "Highest Position") was a prestigious Korean professional Go title denoting the player who stood at the absolute summit of Korean Baduk. The title was contested through a challenger system, with a league determining the right to face the defending champion. Its name carried enormous symbolic weight in a country where Go rank and title carry deep cultural significance, and its champions were regarded as the definitive best in Korea.
