Chinese Women's Masters

Shenzhen's contribution to the Chinese women's calendar, founded in 2023 as an eight-player invitational and won that first year by Li He over Wang Yubo. From 2024 it entered the Chinese Go Association rating system and threw its draw open to every professional woman in the country, with public qualifiers feeding the main knockout. That change is what makes it interesting: Rui Naiwei, still playing in her sixties, and teenagers who qualified last month now arrive in the same bracket. The name 名手 ("masters") is not the older 国手 ("national hand") of the Women's Guoshou, which is a separate title.
