Kiwang

The Kiwang (기왕전, "King of Go") was a prestigious Korean professional title that ranked among the country's major individual championships. The title was contested through a challenger system, with a league or knockout tournament producing a challenger who faced the defending champion in a best-of series final. Like many Korean titles, the Kiwang reflected the influence of Japanese title structures adapted to Korean Go culture, and its champions included some of Korea's greatest players.
