Ryufu Cup

Inaugurated in 2025, the Ryufu Cup Women's Professional Go Tournament is organized by the Diet Members' League for Go Culture Promotion (chaired by Yanagimoto Takuji), with cooperation from the Nihon Ki-in and sponsorship from Go & Shogi Channel, Kinoshita Group, and Koizumi Corporation. The name "Ryufu" (柳風, "willow wind") derives from the organizer chairman's surname. Thirty-two female professionals compete in a single-elimination knockout across four blocks, with all rounds from quarterfinals onward held in a single day at the Nihon Ki-in Tokyo headquarters. Ueno Risa won the inaugural edition.
