Lebaishi Cup

The Lebaishi Cup (乐百氏杯) was a Chinese professional Go tournament sponsored by Lebaishi (Robust), a major Chinese beverage company. Consumer brand sponsorship of Go tournaments became increasingly common in China during the 1990s and 2000s as the sport's popularity grew alongside the country's economic boom. The tournament contributed to the expanding domestic circuit that helped develop the deep talent pool behind China's eventual international dominance.
