1st IBK Cup Women's World Masters · Korean Qualifier

Korea's answer to a gap it had complained about for years. The domestic IBK Cup Women's Baduk Masters ran five editions from 2021, and in 2026 the Industrial Bank of Korea, the Chosun Ilbo and the Korea Baduk Association tore it up and rebuilt it as an international championship with the largest purse in the history of women's Go. Until then China had the Wu Qingyuan Cup and Japan the Senko Cup, and Korea, whose women had spent a decade winning both, had nothing of its own to invite them to. The first edition seats its field through national selection tournaments run separately in Korea and China, played through the summer of 2026.
